What is NEAT?

NEAT stands for non-exercise activity thermogenesis. It is any activity that is done during the day and does not include any intentional sports activity, eating or sleeping. The implementation of a good amount of NEAT will be a catalyst in your lifestyle; it can invoke positive results both physically and mentally, which will make you overall happier.


NEAT And Weight Loss

NEAT is a fundamental component in the energy out equation also know as TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) equation. NEAT combined with intentional physical exercise accounts to approximately 20% to 40% of the energy that we burn during the day. Thus, the more you increase your NEAT, the faster you will achieve your weight loss goal. To elaborate more on this premise, NEAT increases your daily movement, the more you move the more you burn. Your weight loss journey is in your hands, incorporate NEAT within your day and you will notice how your goal will become greatly palpable as each day goes by.

  1. Walk more (everyone should be walking an average of 10,000 steps everyday)
